By improving our students’ SAT scores an average of 150 points, we provide them the best opportunity for college admissions and scholarships. We also provide small group tutoring for high school End-of-Course exams and FCAT preparation. Lissette Gonzalez, M.S., N.B.C.T.-- Director and Math Instructor
Lissette Gonzalez is a highly qualified Mathematics Teacher in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. In her 9 years of teaching, she has received the 2007 Teacher of the Year Award for Science, Engineering, Communication, and Mathematics Education (SECME) and the 2011 Math Teacher of the Year Award for Dade County Council of Teachers of Mathematics (DCCTM). Ms. Gonzalez is a National Board Certified Teacher and has her Master's Degree in Mathematics Education from Florida International University.
Michael Muñiz, M.A.-- Reading and Writing Instructor
Michael J. Muñiz taught high school English for seven years in Miami-Dade County Public Schools, including Honors, AP, and AICE Thinking Skills. Mr. Muñiz’s unique teaching methods help students quickly and efficiently respond to verbal and writing prompts, while developing their logical reasoning skills. Currently, Mr. Muñiz is an adjunct professor of Philosophy at Northwood University. He is a published author and professional conference speaker. Mr. Muñiz has a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Florida International University and a Master’s Degree in Philosophical Studies from Liberty University.
Alyse Ruiz, M.S.-- Reading and Writing Instructor
Ms. Ruiz graduated from Brown University in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies and later received a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 2011. She taught Language Arts for two summers with the Breakthrough Miami Program and recently worked with their College Bound program as the Assistant Site Director. She teaches 10th and 11th grade English.
Miguel Acosta, B.S.-- Mathematics Instructor
Mr. Acosta is an expert in preparing students for standardized tests. He was awarded the Excel Award in 2008 for helping his students achieve the greatest math FCAT gains in the State of Florida! He is excellent at teaching students tips and tricks to solve math questions quickly and efficiently, while at the same time developing their reasoning skills.
